Limassol mayoral votes to be recounted

Two months after the nail biting Majoral elections in Limassol the votes will be recounted again to confirm the final result.

Back in December Nicos Nicolaides defeated Andreas Christou in a dramatic Limassol Major election process, Mr Nicolaides won the public vote by just 10 votes and was elected Major of Limassol.

Akel and other supporters of runner up Andreas Christou on Tuesday filed a request for a recount of the ballots cast in December’s mayoral elections in Limassol.

Christou confirmed the action but declined to comment, according to the Cyprus News Agency.
