Limassol unveils brand new stadium (photos and video)

A historic day for Limassol.

In a press conference which took place on Thursday at the “Spyros Kyprianou” Sports centre in Limassol, Mr. Kleanthis Georgiades unveiled Limassol’s brand new stadium which will be named Limassol Arena and will be built in Kolossi.

The project according to Mr. Georgiades is expected to be worth 29.300.000 euros and will comply to UEFA’s compadibility criteria which means that any european game can take place in Limassol even if thats the Champions League, UEFA Europa League and many more.

The teams expected to play in the Limassol Arena will the three Limassol clubs AEL, Apollon and Aris plus the Cyprus National teams.

The stadium is expected to be of a 13,000 fan capacity and the Limassol Arena is expected to have started in March of 2018.

Finally the stadium is expected to be delivered in 2020.
